The Gift of Peace: Choosing Confrontation Over Comfortability

Sometimes confrontation must come before peace—whether it be a person (with compassion), a situation, a trauma, or even a dream. We must refuse to run away from conflict and instead, choose to face things, face people, no matter how uncomfortable it may be in the moment. This is how we find peace.

There’s a difference between comfortability and peace; this is something a lot of people miss. Your comfort is not your peace. In fact, your comfort often times will rob you of your peace. People who idolize short term comfort forsake long term peace. It’s the people who don’t prioritize comfort who will go further, live longer, and they’ll be happier because their happiness isn’t dependent on their comfort. It’s the people who don’t chase comfort that will move their bodies more, eat healthier, and push themselves do to the things that don’t always feel good. When we choose what we want the most instead of what we may feel we want in the moment, we give ourselves the gift of true peace.
