The Gift of Stillness: How to Love God Best

The hardest thing to do

when there’s time to kill

is take in the moment,

to pause and be still.

.

The hardest thing to do

when your life is a mess

is to just sit in silence,

to simply do less.

.

To leave it it God

is the hardest thing to do,

but it’s always the best thing

for me and for you.

.

How to be still?

Our faith must increase.

When doubt departs

anxieties will cease.

.

But how do we have faith

in a God we can’t see?

Be still for long enough;

that’s the key.

.

The longer you’re still

the more He will do,

the more He’ll reveal Himself

to me and to you.

.

See stillness isn’t just something

you learn just for you.

Stillness is how

you love God too.

.

So what does it mean

to truly be still?

It means submitting to God,

surrendering to His will.

.

To be still doesn’t mean

we stop doing our parts.

It means we rest in our Lord

and give Him our hearts.

.

We can’t see what’s in front of us,

yet still we move forward.

This is what it looks like

to be still in the Lord.

.

Don’t grumble or complain

just follow where He leads.

God knows exactly what

His beloved child needs.

.

So the next time you find yourself

fighting for control,

give it to the One

who created your soul.

.

In stillness we find peace;

in stillness we find rest.

In stillness we discover

how to love God best.
