The other day a coworker asked me to write a poem for her daughter’s 13th birthday. If you know me, you know I’m passionate about poetry.

I remember writing my very first poem; I was seven years old expressing my love for ice cream and it’s many flavors. My passion for poetry carried over into adolescence.
