For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this. (Esther 4:14)
I believe we were all meant for the exact place and time we are in at this very moment. The period of time you were born into, your family, your life circumstances—all have a purpose, meaning, and are meant to teach you something, ultimately bringing glory to God.
Just because we are placed somewhere doesn’t mean we are meant to stay there. Sometimes we are placed somewhere and are only meant to stay there for a short period; perhaps we are there to teach someone else something and then move on. It’s through consistent prayer and yielding to God’s voice we can come to understand His intentions for us.
The problem for mankind is this—we don’t all come to fulfill our purposes—His purpose. To live out your entire life and never discover why God placed you here is nothing short of tragic. It’s only tragic for us though. God’s glory will be known when all is said and done, and His plan will come to pass regardless of whether or not we choose to be a part of it.
I want to encourage you to look at your current positioning, and ask the question—what is God trying to teach me from this? What is God trying to teach someone else through me?
I really enjoyed creating this painting. As I painted these soft florals, I began to reflect on how lately God has been trying to teach me something very important—finding my voice. I’ve struggled in knowing when to speak up and when to stay silent; there is a time for both. It’s in consistently seeking God’s voice I have been able to find my own as well. This painting undoubtedly was created for such a time as this.
